Experimental photography is used to push the boundaries of photography to find new and unique ways to capture an image. Part of the process is trial and error. To be successful, you have to be willing to try new things and reach out of your comfort zone. Get creative with it! Experimental photography can be done on anything which is shown in the examples above. There are examples of everything from guitar strings to a fire place. The difference is that they are not the typical ways someone would picture those objects.
Whether it is finding the right amount of blur, to long exposure movement, or any other technique, the possibilities are endless! The only limitation is your imagination and how you choose to go about it. It is experimental and meant to come after some trial and error, so it takes practice to find the right technique for your situation.
